Martin Šidlovský is a czech accordionist and musician. In age of six he started to get accordion classes in music school and later after his middle school studies (Middle School for Entrepreneurs and Managers in Frýdek-Místek) he decided to continue with music. His next education in age of 19 took place at Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava where he (2014) graduated in major classical accordion. After this study he changed his major and studied music theory and choir conducting at Ostrava University. He finished his bachelor´s study (2017) and continued with master´s degree. In year 2019 he moved to The Netherlands where he continued to study second bachelor´s degree in classical accordion at Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
During his studies he found his passion for teaching. As a music teacher he was teaching in a few elementary schools of arts (in Frýdek-Místek, Hlučín, Ročnov pod Radhoštěm, Krnov and Hranice na Moravě) where besides his main major accordion he also taught piano, music theory, chamber music and he was also conductor of several choirs. Martin always try to combine things, work with other departments, share his knowledge and ideas with students or colleagues. Making, building and creating is a big part of his study and teaching phylosophy.
Besides teaching he always try to join concerts, festivals or masterclasses in The Netherlands or in abroad. Martin plays in trio together with his colleagues from the university (accordion, violin and soprano) which present wide range of music period from baroque music to contemporary music of 21th century. As a solo accordionist and also tohether with his trio he likes to work with new young composers who create new music for accordion and other instruments.
